The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet

SUCCESS STORIES

Laura
BEFORE The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet™

Laura was a 32-year old married mother who had just delivered her second baby in 18-months. Laura had always maintained her weight without much effort, thanks to healthy eating habits.

It was a shock to Laura to see the drastic changes that occurred after having two babies in a short timeframe. In short, Laura realized the weight she gained during pregnancy was not magically disappearing like it used to. Although Laura diligently nursed her babies after their birth, hoping she would automatically lose weight without trying, she was discouraged to learn that her body simply would not shed a pound. Laura did not lose weight from nursing, no through her attempts to deprive herself without affecting her milk supply.

Laura felt panicked at the thought of not losing the 45-pounds of pregnancy weight. Laura also felt frustrated. She admitted that she was fatigued and hungry. Another problem: Laura’s realization that she couldn’t fit into any of her pre-pregnancy clothes. However, she didn’t want to accept being at this new, larger size, nor could she afford to buy all new post-pregnancy clothes at a larger size.
There was one fundamental problem: Laura was not eating enough protein.
We coached Laura to increase her protein intake to up to 5 servings a day: to start her day with The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet(“ICMD”), and to have some ICMD whenever she began to feel hunger.

DURING The Ideal Chocolate Milk Diet™

Fast forward one month, and Laura had lost an impressive 10 pounds!! The Laura on ICMD was confident and motivated from seeing weight loss results. Most importantly, Laura was energetic, optimistic, and motivated- a complete reversal from the feelings Laura had before ICMD.
The number one difference Laura experienced on ICMD? She simply wasn’t hungry!
Laura's Food Journal During

Laura enthusiastically described her experiences on ICMD within the first month. She was initially skeptical that starting her day with ICMD would do anything other than increase her hunger pains, but was pleasantly surprised when she didn’t think about food at all after her morning glass of ICMD.

Laura described being stunned to look down at her watch and realize it was already 12:00pm -- a full 4.5 hours after she first consumed a glass of ICMD -- before she felt the onset of hunger pains. Heeding our advice, Laura drank another glass of ICMD -- this time served warm as hot chocolate -- to dull her hunger pains and allow Laura to make controlled, rational choices at lunchtime.

When Laura hit her afternoon slump, as she described it, in the period before dinnertime and her children’s bedtime routine, she would have another glass of ICMD. If she still felt a bit empty after her light dinner, and craving some sort of dessert or chocolate, she would have another glass of ICMD (or the Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls – See Recipes). Laura woke up in the morning energetic – not famished- and mentally alert. Laura raved about feeling more patient with her children because she wasn't hungry, and was more mentally alert for work.

4 Months AFTER Starting ICMD
Divider 3

Laura had reached her goal -- her pre-pregnancy weight and her pre-pregnancy clothes fit. She remained as energetic and enthusiastic about ICMD as ever. Laura described that it took 4 months to lose the 45 pounds from her pregnancy, but that it had been such an easy process that she never focused obsessively on her weight loss.

Instead, Laura stayed true to the principles of ICMD: increased protein to crowd out hunger.

After she reached her goal, Laura went on the maintenance phase of her weight loss. While most dieters on other diets regain weight within 2-3 months after ending a strict diet, Laura’s weight had not fluctuated at all because she understood the principles of ICMD. Laura started her morning with ICMD and consumed ICMD on the run or at home whenever she felt an onset of hunger.

Laura had reduced her servings of ICMD to 2 to 3 servings a day, but she knew she was ultimately in control: if she had a particularly busy week and felt famished or rundown, she would increase her servings up to 5 a day. Laura appreciated the complete flexibility in ICMD and knew that the lesson she learned about protein intake would enable her to remain in complete control of her weight for the rest of her life.
